……. Audrey Hepburn
Let’s all just take a moment to recognize a woman so modest in her own “iconicness” (pretty sure I just made that up) that she never considered herself to be the style goddess that some of us look upon today. She never considered herself to be better than your average Joe off the street. Her modesty and good nature are why we are taking a moment to recognize her today as an icon of not just style but patients, thoughtfulness and good manners. (A killer hat and pair of heels doesn’t hurt while you’re doing it!)
Audrey was notorious for never letting others take care of her personal chores. She did all of her own laundry and pressed all of her clothing. She always made herself presentable with style and attitude. Every time she would get out of the car she would look in the side mirror of the car to make sure her clothing didn’t wrinkle, striving to make herself presentable and her best at every moment.
We can all learn a little something from her by the way she lived and carried herself in public. Nowadays we have girl’s way to young going out and dressing like a woman you would bring to a motel you rent by the hour, disrespecting their parents and not valuing the efforts of hard work.
We will blog more about Audrey’s style in the future but for today remember your poise, remember to always act like a lady and remember …….
“Make-up can only make you look pretty on the outside but it doesn’t help if your ugly on the inside. Unless you eat the make-up.”
