……. Audrey Hepburn

Let’s all just take a moment to recognize a woman so modest in her own “iconicness” (pretty sure I just made that up) that she never considered herself to be the style goddess that some of us look upon today. She never considered herself to be better than your average Joe off the street. Her modesty and good nature are why we are taking a moment to recognize her today as an icon of not just style but patients, thoughtfulness and good manners. (A killer hat and pair of heels doesn’t hurt while you’re doing it!)

Audrey was notorious for never letting others take care of her personal chores. She did all of her own laundry and pressed all of her clothing. She always made herself presentable with style and attitude. Every time she would get out of the car she would look in the side mirror of the car to make sure her clothing didn’t wrinkle, striving to make herself presentable and her best at every moment.

We can all learn a little something from her by the way she lived and carried herself in public. Nowadays we have girl’s way to young going out and dressing like a woman you would bring to a motel you rent by the hour, disrespecting their parents and not valuing the efforts of hard work.

We will blog more about Audrey’s style in the future but for today remember your poise, remember to always act like a lady and remember …….

“Make-up can only make you look pretty on the outside but it doesn’t help if your ugly on the inside. Unless you eat the make-up.”

― Audrey Hepburn

DSCN3862So sometimes, putting a flower behind your ear as an accessory just doesn’t cut it. So what’s next? Earrings may just look funny. Bracelets are really small, I mean you could potentially stick one on a pony tail though and go for the “I am Genie” look. I actually like using necklaces as head bands or just hair pieces.
What I like to do is get a really long necklace and wrap it around my head to give the illusion of a hair band with three pieces. It’s pretty easy, all you need is some bobby pins and amazing hair spray(I like Big Sexy Hair). The next thing you do is style your hair how you want it and then just wrap the necklace through so it snakes in the hair. If the necklace has a snap on it fold it up and pin it with a bobby pin so people can’t see it.
If have the necklace circle around your head(kind of like a hippie band) make sure that the sides are secured with bobby pins so it wont fall everywhere.
And Voila! You made an outfit just a little more interesting to look at!

All the reasons why you need us in our life. And by our life I meant your life, but it was a typo I was too lazy to hit the back button for.
First off, we aren’t from any fashion capital of the world. However, one of the things that make living in this dreary oasis interesting is the fact that it’s NOT a fashion capital. It’s where fashion goes to die…And no, we don’t live in Jersey.  We are privileged enough to see walking style disasters everywhere! So when we say something doesn’t work…It doesn’t work!
………picture this <imagination time!> the absolute worst fashion you can think of….I mean something truly awful, now, multiply that by 10000! Yea bad image right? (If you think it’s cool you probably should navigate away now) No? Still here?
Ok our Style/fashion consists of 100% our opinions/ideas/whatever we like at the moment. You may not agree and that’s cool, we love feedback. Now we may not always respect your opinion, or take it into consideration, but the U.S. has freedom of speech.
1.We are not afraid to tell you something looks bad even if it’s hip/trendy/cool/ “in”….overalls…again? wtf?!?! Side note, overalls are the number one way to stay celibate.
2.We take criticism well. And by well, we mean not at all.
3. We have real fashion icons as our icons, not the current celebrity weird fashion trend people things. I don’t care if the meat dress was a statement, put it on a sign don’t wear it on your body. We do not need Salmonella or bird flu, or west nile.
4. We laugh at ourselves daily. If you don’t have a sense of humor, you can’t survive fashion.
5. We aren’t “into” labels. We are into quality.
So these are the five reasons that make us more awesome than any other fashion blog out there….except for the couple hundred thousand that are better than ours, but we are still doing good.

Love always
